Supervisor of Elections and Secretary to the Electoral Commission Mohammed Saneem says according to their calculations the campaign period for the general elections will begin on 26th April however the decision lies with the Electoral Commission.
Saneem says it will be gazetted by the Electoral Commission and according to the law, it should not be less than a month before the writ is issued and will end 2 days before election day.
He says all campaign laws in Fiji will be effective from that day.
