As Diwali festivities ramp up this week, the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji has confirmed the auspicious times, or tithis, for each of the five days of Diwali.
Diwali in 2025 will be celebrated on Tuesday, and the key Hindu religious observances will span over five important days, starting from Dhantersh and ending with Bhai Duj.
According to the Sabha, the festive period begins with Dhanteras, which falls on Saturday.
The tithi begins at 6.48pm on Saturday and ends at 8.21pm on Sunday.
Following this is Roop Narak Chaturthi, observed on Sunday where the tithi starts at 8.21pm and ends at 10.14pm on Monday 20th October.
Yam Deep Daan can be performed after 5pm on Sunday.
The main day of Diwali, Amaawasya, will be celebrated on Tuesday 21st October.
The tithi begins at 10.14pm on Monday and ends at 12.24am on Wednesday.
They say Lakshmi Pooja can be performed from 6.09pm to 8.25pm.
The Sabha says Govardhan Pooja will be marked on Wednesday, beginning at 12.24am and ending at 2.46am on Thursday 23rd October.
The festival concludes with Bhai Duj, observed on Thursday.
This tithi starts at 2.46am and ends at 5.16am on Friday.
