President of the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, Sarju Prasad

The President of the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, Sarju Prasad says those people who are in need of help should take full advantage of the assistance provided by the government as funds have been set aside and money is also available from Australia and New Zealand.

Prasad says the government has committed that it will provide rations.

He is also calling on people to cooperate with the authorities as they are concerned with the increasing number of arrests made for breach of curfew and other orders in place.

He says the Sabha is currently unable to do much because of the restrictions in movement however if this situation is prolonged, they may assist through the government which will be a more coordinated way of assisting Fijians. He says details about this will be revealed later.

Prasad is also calling on Hindus to directly deal with the Health Ministry or relevant government agencies if they are going through problems and need guidance and assistance regarding COVID-19.
