It was an evening dedicated to celebrating corporate excellence at the South Pacific Stock Exchange Awards, where both listed and unlisted companies were honoured for their achievements and contributions.

Minister for Finance, Esrom Immanuel says the awards highlight the importance of good governance, particularly at a time when the economy is expanding in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Immanuel notes that as we continue to uphold the principles of corporate services, this occasion marks a time to celebrate progress, acknowledge dedication, and highlight the achievements shaping the capital market community.

He adds that as Fiji navigates its post-pandemic recovery and focuses on the nation’s micro-repositioning, strong and unwavering accountability is both timely and essential, serving as the foundation of economic resilience.

A standing ovation filled the room as the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Hari Punja, Managing Director of Flour Mills of Fiji.

Punja reflected on his journey, saying that one of the major benefits of joining the stock exchange was the increase in capital.

Immanuel, accompanied by SPX Chairperson Nitin Gandhi, presented several awards, including Excellence in Trading Value to FHL Stockbrokers, Trading Volume to Kontiki Stockbroking, New Investor Growth to Fiji Stockbrokers, Capital Raising Facilitation to BDO, and Innovative Investor Relations to Sun Insurance.

The Minister extended his warmest congratulations to all the winners and expressed hope for an even more remarkable event next year.
