SODELPA aims to have 30 percent of female candidates for the 2022 General Elections.

This was confirmed by the Party Vice President Ro Teimumu Kepa who has also reaffirmed that she will not be contesting the next elections.

Ro Teimumu says they are currently head-hunting women because they believe that women can make a difference.

When questioned if SODELPA will lose many women supporters as Lynda Tabuya has left the party, Ro Teimumu says they still have a number of women supporters from when the party was regarded as SDL.

She says Tabuya was a very good member of the party, she worked very hard, they learnt a lot from her but now they just wish her well.

Ro Teimumu also highlighted that the one thing that their Women's Forum believes in, is democracy.

She says they also believe that there should be an Education Commission, they believe that small businesses should be supported more and more focus should be put on the health sector.
