SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka

SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka is urging all Fijians and the public at large to remain calm and not to take the law into their own hands.

Gavoka has released a statement saying they understand there maybe anger and frustration against the Government’s plan to bring about a Bill to amend the iTaukei Land Trust Act of 1940 without carrying out proper consultation with stakeholders especially native landowners.

Gavoka says the party is pleading that any scheme to cause disruption or instability throughout the country must cease immediately.

He says it will bring us nothing but more suffering in an already dire situation due to COVID-19.
