Defending Coca-Cola Light Games defending champion in the boy’s division Suva Grammar School and Adi Cakobau School in the girl’s category still remain favourites to successfully defend their titles when the two day competition gets underway at the National Sports Stadium this morning.

Although Suva Grammar came second in the Suva Zone 2 meet, experts who have followed the Coca-Cola Light Games for the past 10 years have put their money on the Grammarian Lions to successfully defend the boy’s title for the second year in a row.

While the girls from Sawani who have kept a low profile in their preparations still have the core of the squad that won the title last year and they will be led by senior girls Blue Ribbon champion Alena Vadrasamu who is eyeing to take 3 gold medals.

The ACS team has also been assisted in training by Fiji Athletics assistant coach Bola Tafou and Jone Kalouniviti in the field events.

Chief organizer Vuli Waqa after assessing all the zone results believes that Suva Grammar will still dominate the track events while Marist remains the number 1 contender in the field events.
