SGS, ACS lead after Day 1

Looking at the Fijivillage, Legend FM, Viti FM, Navtarang, Sargam and FM96 Medal Tally

In the boys division Suva Grammar School Leads with 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, Marist Brothers High in second with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze, Lelean is third with 2 gold, 2 bronze.

In the girls division, ACS leads with 6 gold and 2 silver and 3 bronze, while Suva Grammar is second with 3 gold and 4 silver.

Bucalevu Secondary, Labasa College and DAV college Ba have one gold medal each.

The gold for Marist came from Jale Vatubua in the Intermediate Boys’ javelin. Xavier College, Grammar, Nadarivatu Secondary, DAV College of Ba, Gospel High, Kadavu Provincial and LDS all have a gold each.

Grammar recorded their first gold in the Intermediate Boys high jump. The gold went to Grammar's Netani Seruwaqa.

And the challenge has been laid by the girls of Adi Cakabau School in the Girls’ Division, who are aiming to make a clean sweep in the blue ribbon events this evening.

Five records have been broken so far in Day One. Kereleini Tabusoro of Lelean Memorial school set a new record in the Inter Girls’ discus with a throw of 34.13m, while the old record stood at 32.92m.

Another record was broken by Suva Grammar school's Makalesi Tumalevu in the Senior Girls’ long jump. Tumalevu jumped 5.90m to break the record she set last year which was 5.56m.

In the inter girls 200m heats, Paulini Korowaqa of Balentine Memorial school set a new record with a time of 25.16s. The old record was held by Suva Grammar’s Miriama Radiniwaimaro.

And Natabua's Isoa Me set two new records. The first in the Inter boys 400m heats setting a new record of 49.92s and he also set a new record in the Inter boys 200m heats. Me ran in a time of 22 seconds flat to break the record set by Grammar’s Matavei Telawa, which stood at 22.15s.
