SCC pulls down banners around Suva city and contributes to more traffic

Suva City Council workers were at it again at lunchtime yesterday pulling down banners and Fiji flags around the capital city and adding on to the already huge traffic jam by blocking one lane.

Fijivillage had earlier raised this issue when SCC workers were seen putting up banners during peak traffic times and there was an assurance to the public that it won’t be done again.

There was an assurance that these works will be done at night.

When questioned by Fijivillage, the council said that the traffic is not caused by them but it is from the roadworks done by the Fiji Roads Authority.

When we raised the issue that they are adding on to the traffic jam, the council said that they will talk to the manager responsible and they will pull down the banners after lunch.

They also said that if we all notice, the traffic is the same all the time in the capital city.
