The Suva City Council has bought two customised compactor trucks worth $600,000 that will help in garbage collection in the Capital City.

Suva City Council Special Administrator and Chairman, Isikeli Tikoduadua says this is part of their program in keeping Suva clean.

Tikoduadua says the money used for the purchase of the trucks were from the rates that were collected.

He has encouraged rate payers to continue to pay their rates because these are the types of investment and services the SCC will be able to provide.

He has also clarified that the trucks will used for the Suva area and not used in Nasinu.

Tikoduadua also says that the trucks are EURO 4 standards that were bought from Japan.
