Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Isoa Talemaibua has passed away.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka was today formally informed by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka, and his delegation of the untimely passing.
Rabuka expressed deep sorrow at the news and extended his heartfelt condolences to the late Permanent Secretary’s family, colleagues, and friends.
Rabuka says the late Permanent Secretary served Fiji with distinction, dedication, and a deep sense of duty, his passing is a great loss not only to the Ministry but also to the entire civil service and the nation.
Government is expected to present its reguregu on Wednesday afternoon at his village of Matainoco before his burial on Friday.
