Provisional FIDE Master Rudr Prasad

Provisional FIDE Master Rudr Prasad won the 2023 Vodafone Blitz Chess Championship with a score of 11 out of 12 at the Fiji Olympic House.

Prasad won 10 games and drew 2.

He says his long term goal is to become the National Champion and is working to achieve a FIDE Elo rating of 2100 to gain the FIDE Master’s title.

Prasad also says in a fast paced blitz game, anything can happen and he was mentally prepared to remain cool.

He says he comes from a family of chess players and his sister Tanvi Prasad is the current Women’s National Chess Champion.

Blitz Chess is played at a fast pace, normally between the time controls of three to five minutes and sometimes players get an increment of about three to ten seconds after pressing the Chess Clock.
