Crusaders coach Scott Robertson is calling on his team to learn from the uncharacteristic error that cost them last week’s match against the Highlanders.

The defending champions lost 33-12 to their South Island rivals that left Robertson and his troops with plenty to work on in the lead-up to today's clash with the Hurricanes in Wellington.

The 46-year-old admitted that it has been an honest week for them and the coaching staff have been forced to reassess their approach.

Robertson also pinpointed his side’s lack of execution that needs much improvement if they are to emerge as victors.

He also challenged his players to be more clinical, efficient and have a stronger desire to succeed.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs beat the Highlanders 26-23 last night.

The Crusaders will take on the Hurricanes at 3.35 this afternoon.
