Roads confirmed to close for NZ PM arrival

There will be road closures from Nausori Airport along Kings Road, into Rewa Street from BSP Samabula, Flagstaff, Duncan Road, Ratu Cakobau Road to the Grand Pacific Hotel from 8 to 9.30 tonight to facilitate New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden’s motorcade.

Police say there will be traffic measures in place in Suva from tomorrow to accommodate Ardern's visit.

It will begin at 10am tomorrow along Victoria Parade towards Government House along Queen Elizabeth Drive to facilitate Ardern’s courtesy call on President, Jioji Konrote.

They say from 11am tomorrow similar traffic will be implemented along Queen Elizabeth Drive towards Vuya Road as Ardern will be attending a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National War Memorial.

At 11.30am tomorrow traffic officers will again control traffic movement as the motorcade will leave the National War Memorial and head back to Grand Pacific Hotel following the same route along Vuya Road and Queen Elizabeth Drive back to Grand Pacific Hotel.

Meanwhile, Police say in the Western Division there will be road  closure tomorrow and Thursday.

They say there will be a rehearsal run of escorting duties tomorrow.

There will be a temporary road closure from Nadi Airport to the Lautoka Jame Masjid from 7am to 9am.

At 10.30am to 11am the road will be temporarily closed again as the motorcade leaves Lautoka for Namaka for her next official engagement.

At 12pm the road from the Namaka Market to the Nadi Airport will be closed temporarily as Ardern will round off her official tour of Fiji and will depart our shores shortly afterwards

The same timings for the rehearsal run tomorrow morning will be implemented on Thursday.
