Concerns continue to be raised by the villagers of Naqarawai Village in Namosi on when the bridge will be fixed since they are finding difficulties due to its closure for the past two months.

Villagers say they are working together for the safety of the children and are making sure that they are safe when crossing the river in a bamboo raft.

Naqarawai villager, Nasoni Lutunaliwa says the elderly and children in the village are finding difficulties in trying to cross the river to catch the carrier.

Lutunaliwa says elderly people are hardly going to town because of the bridge being closed and it is difficult for them to cross the river and climb the cliff.

He says to get across, one will have to board the raft and pull the ropes tied to the raft as it glides across the water.

They say concerns have been raised with the Namosi Provincial Office.

We have sent questions to the Minister for Public Works and Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau and Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Sakiasi Tubuna.

They are yet to respond.
