Vakalalabure challenges his Fiji Sports Council sacking in court
Sacked Fiji Sports Council CEO Gilbert Vakalalabure has sought leave to file a judicial review against his termination in the Suva High Court.

Vakalalabure was sacked in May this year following an independent investigation at Fiji Sports Council.

The matter was called for the first time in the Suva High Court this morning.

Vakalalabure’s counsel and brother Tevita Vakalalabule told the court that they require 14 days to confirm some issues and amend the application.

Lawyer for the Sports Council, Tomasi Tuitoga had no issues with the application and also requested 14 days to file their response.

A further 7 days have also been given to Vakalalabure to file a further response.

The matter has been adjourned to the 4th of November.
