The President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa.

The President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa says Diwali is a public holiday in Fiji, allowing all Fijians to share in the festive atmosphere and celebrate our cultural diversity.

In his Diwali message, Rev Vakadewavosa says on behalf of the Methodist Church in Fiji, he wishes their Hindu neighbours, friends, and brothers and sisters a Happy Diwali.

He says the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness celebrated at Diwali reminds them of the need for the light of Jesus to guide every Fijian to shine the light of righteousness, compassion and friendship in homes, communities and in our country.
