Registrar of Political Mohammed Saneem has referred a few matters for clarification for the FijiFirst and the Fiji Labour Party after the verification of the list of donations for parties against receipt books and bank statements for the parties.

Saneem says the initial verification exercise of the FijiFirst ended on Monday and the Registrar has referred a few matters to the party for clarification which was due next Monday.

He says the FijiFirst has this afternoon responded to the Registrar and provided clarifications on all the matters raised.

The party auditor has also issued a letter confirming the contents of the response by the party.

The Registrar says the response by the FijiFirst will be considered in light of the matters initially identified and the donation lists next week.

Saneem also says the initial verification of the donor lists for the Fiji Labour Party has been completed and the Registrar has referred some matters in the donor lists from 2015, 2016 and 2017 to the party for clarification.

Once received, the response by the Fiji Labour Party will be considered in light of the matters initially identified and the lists.

Saneem says the National Federation Party has re-submitted the donor lists as directed by the Registrar and also responded to the queries raised by the Registrar from the initial verification exercise.

The Registrar has also commenced verification of the donor lists for SODELPA this morning.
