Reece to start on the wing and will provide mid-field cover if needed

Sevu Reece could get an opportunity to show he's more than just an explosive, try-scoring wing on Friday night.

The 23-year-old will start in his familiar Crusaders No 14 jersey against the Reds, but will provide midfield cover while David Havili and Braydon Ennor take a week off.

Coach Scott Robertson says Reece was beaming after he was told he was going to jump into 13 and cover that if required.

Manasa Mataele returns to to the Crusaders bench, having not played since a knee injury last year.

The Crusaders take on the Reds at 6.05pm Friday.
