Sevu Reece and Hoskins Sotutu have been named in the Super Rugby Aotearoa Team of the Week after an impressive round 2 performance.

Sotutu who has links to Fiji made stellar performances in the opening two rounds of the new competition, scoring a try last week against the Chiefs and assisted in their second try, sealing their second win of the competition.

Reece made his return to rugby in style, scoring the first try for the Crusaders in the New Zealand competition. It is the 23-year-old’s 20th Super Rugby try in 21 matches, equalizing with All Blacks great Christian Cullen.

The team of the week also includes the likes of Blues captain Patrick Tuipulotu at locks, Sotutu at No.8 and TJ Perenara at half-back.

The Blues are currently leading the Super Rugby Aotearoa points table with 8 points, the Crusaders in second place with 5 points, the Highlanders in third place with 1 point while the Hurricanes are in last with zero no points.

The Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday while the Crusaders will face the Chiefs at 3.35pm Sunday.
