In an effort to reduce poverty and uplift communities across Fiji through targeted support and empowerment initiatives, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection is creating small income-generating projects creating new opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and financial independence.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran says the Ministry is also providing Disability Grants to support persons with disabilities and their families, helping them improve accessibility, start small businesses, and participate more fully in the community and economic life.

Kiran adds in addition, continued investment in income generating projects is building local capacity and promoting self-reliance through community-driven initiatives that strengthen village economies and help families meet their daily needs.

She says together, these programmes demonstrate the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive Fiji where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
