The Queensland Reds edged the Western Force 28-24 to top the Shop & Save Super Rugby game points table last night.

Reds co-captain Tate McDermott delivered the game-winner with eight minutes to go after a Ben Donaldson penalty put the Force in front.

The win puts the Reds on top of the ladder after the Crusaders' shock defeat to Moana Pasifika.

Both teams traded tries in the first half as they were tied 21-all at halftime.

It was a physical battle in the second half as both teams had similar game patterns.

The Reds only managed 7 points and the Force 3 points to end another exciting match.

The Reds will play Chiefs at Waikato this Friday at 6.05pm while the Force faces the Highlanders at Perth on Saturday at 8.35pm.
