Real Madrid lost 2–0 at home to Celta Vigo, falling further behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Celta Vigo took the lead eight minutes after half-time with a goal from Williot Swedberg.

Madrid’s problems worsened in the 65th minute when Fran Garcia was sent off, reducing the hosts to ten men.

Kylian Mbappe missed a chance to equalise, and Madrid were reduced to nine players late in stoppage time after Alvaro Carreras was also shown a red card.

Swedberg scored again soon after to seal the 2–0 win for Celta Vigo.

With this result, Real Madrid remain in second place with 36 points, while Barcelona lead the table with 40 points.

Villarreal are in third with 35 points, and Atletico Madrid are fourth with 31 points.
