Former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Centre Kalaveti Ravouvou has extended his contract with the Bristol Bears following a very impressive season with league doubles against Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers and shortlisted for Premiership Player of the Month.

Ravouvou is one the Gallagher Premiership’s hottest properties.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined the Bears from Fijian Drua in the summer of 2023, has scored seven tries for Pat Lam’s side.

Director of Rugby, Pat Lam says in the Bears’ record-breaking victory over the Tigers last month, Ravouvou made 230 metres with ball in hand, the second most ever recorded in a Premiership game – beating 10 defenders and making 18 carries in a blockbuster performance.

Ravouvou has four caps for Fiji having made his debut against Ireland in the 2022 Autumn Nations Series.

Pat Lam, says it is great to see Kala fully settled in the club and the city, which has seen him go from strength to strength since arriving at the Bears and he believes they are all seeing his world class ability come to the fore with some outstanding performances this season.

He says Ravouvou is one of the most devastating backs in the competition and his ability to play across the back line is huge for them with a smaller squad.

Ravouvou says he really enjoyed his time at Bristol because of the culture, environment and his team mates have been amazing.

He is excited to see what his team can achieve over the next few years.
