Ratu Tevita Momoedonu accorded state funeral

The late former Prime Minister and Taukei Sawaieke, Ratu Tevita Momoedonu was accorded a state funeral at Viseisei Village in Vuda today.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama had requested the state funeral as Ratu Tevita was a former Prime Minister.

Bainimarama led the government delegation to Viseisei.

Army Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto led Ratu Tevita’s casket to Vuda.

Ratu Tevita who was part of the Chaudhry led People’s Coalition Government, was appointed Prime Minister twice to get through technicalities after the 2000 coup.

He was first appointed on 27th May 2000 for only a few minutes, and his second appointment lasted two days in March 2001.
