Ratu Sukuna Road in Suva.

The defective works in portions of Ratu Sukuna Road in Suva that was recently done up will be rectified by the contractor at their own cost.

This road was done in August as part of FRA’s road rehabilitation work on frequently travelled sections in the Central Division however they already have cracks and potholes.

People have raised concerns on why the road is already in a bad condition just weeks after the works were completed.

Fiji Roads Authority Acting CEO Kamal Prasad had earlier highlighted that they are ensuring the contractors are carrying out maintenance at their own cost if they find the contractors are not doing the job properly in the first attempt, and this is part of the contract.

Prasad has said there is no Fiji way of doing things as some people would think.
