Ratu Sukuna Day 2025: Honouring visionary leadership and legacy

Ratu Sukuna Day 2025 will commemorate the extraordinary life and legacy of Ratu Sir Josefa Lalabalavu Vanayaliyali Sukuna, a visionary leader, esteemed scholar, soldier and statesman whose foundational contributions have shaped modern Fiji.

Deputy CEO of the iTaukei Affairs Board, Josefa Toganivalu, says that the official soft launch of the celebration will be led by the Turaga na Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

The launch is scheduled for next Tuesday.

He adds that on Wednesday and Thursday, schools will host various celebrations and educational activities to honour Ratu Sukuna’s legacy.

Theme for this year’s celebrations is “Celebrating Visionary Leadership for Fiji" underscores Ratu Sukuna’s lasting impact on the nation’s identity and development.

The celebration will be held in Labasa.
