Ratu Nemia Dawai has been been appointed the Head of Treasury at the Ministry of Economy.

Ratu Nemia has over 11 years of experience with the Ministry in areas of debt and cash flow management, treasury operations, preparation of whole of Government financial statements, budget formulation and execution, and overall public financial management reforms.

The Permanent Secretary for Economy, Shiri Gounder says Ratu Nemia was the Acting Head of Treasury for the last 15 months and displayed excellent leadership and technical capabilities in managing the Government treasury during one of the worst crisis of our times.

He is also a Board Director of the iTaukei Land Trust Board, Unit Trust of Fiji Limited and Biosecurity Authority of Fiji.

Ratu Nemia has a Masters in Professional Accounting and Finance with first class honours from Massey University in New Zealand.

He hails from Narewa village in Nadi and is married with 2 children.
