Ratu Filise fight for pride in Marist 7s
The Coastal Ratu Filise rugby side wants to restore some lost pride in this week’s Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.

Ratu Filise last won the Marist 7s title in 1997 with experienced players like the late Aminiasi Naituyaga, Luke Erenavula, Fero Lasagavibau and the current coach Etika Tovilevu.

The Namatakula based side last reached the Marist 7s final in 2011 where they lost to Army.

Ratu Filise captain Leveni Tani said they are disappointed after missing the cup competition of the Martintar 7s last week.

Leveni is the younger brother of Vodafone Fiji Bati reps Alipate and Kaliova Tani.

Former national 7s rep Sailosi Rabonaqica is the experienced player in the side along with Nadroga flanker Apisai Nahalo.

Ratu Filise is pooled with Marist 2, Nadawa Young Boys and Coastal Eagles Sigatoka.

The Marist 7s starts this Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
