Improved fitness and nutrition key to Sila Central’s title hopes

Ruth Foraete, the captain of the Under-18 team at Sila Central High School, says the side has placed greater emphasis on fitness and nutrition this year after struggling with conditioning last season.

Speaking to fijivillage News during the launch of the Weet-Bix Raluve Competition, Foraete says the team is working hard to improve both its attacking and defensive play.

The Sila Central winger notes that despite having limited resources, the team made significant progress last year by reaching the semi-finals, a milestone that reflected their determination and growth.

Foraete, who hails from Rotuma, says her goal for this season is to help the team reach the final.

Outside of rugby, Foraete hopes to pursue a career in mechanical engineering like her father.

She began playing rugby while in Year 8 and has continued to develop her passion for the sport ever since.
