Ratu Epeli Ganilau, Qiliho, Tawake, Lenoa and others receive 50th-anniversary commemorative medals

Former RFMF Commander and politician Brigadier General (retired) Ratu Epeli Ganilau, Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho, RFMF Deputy Commander Commodore Humprey Tawake, Ambassador Deo Saran, former Red Cross Fiji Director-General Filipe Nainoca, Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra and FASANOC President Makarita Lenoa are among those that received commemorative medals for Fiji’s 50th anniversary of independence from President Jioji Konrote today.

The medals are given to those who contributed to Fiji’s development and progress in the past 50 years.

This is the first investiture ceremony at State House this year.

Permanent Secretary for Forestry and Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries Pene Baleinabuli, Major (retired) Howard John Politini, self-made entrepreneur Wah Singh Yee, Commissioner Western Mesake Ledua and Subhas Parshotam who is the Managing Partner of Parshotam lawyers have also received commemorative medals.

Other recipients are Akuila Waradi, Doctor Sausau Fio Atalifo, Babu Singh, Salaseini Rokovucago, Jone Naisau, Josefa Navuku, Kinisimere Buresolei, Saimoni Waibuta and Mosese Sakuka.
