Ratu David-George Toganivalu's dedication, leadership, and contributions to Fiji have left an indelible mark.

Leadership Fiji Board Chairperson, William Parkinson says the passing of their Leadership Fiji Alumni and Fellow, Ratu David-George Toganivalu, has really saddened Leadership Fiji as their hearts go out to his family during this difficult time.

Parkinson says Ratu David-George Toganivalu was a participant in Leadership Fiji’s 2005 year group while he was a prosecutor in the Director of Public Prosecutions Office and it became clear early on that he was destined for greater things.

Parkinson says they watched as he steadily climbed through the DPP’s office until his career was cut short prematurely in 2012.

He says this wasn’t to deter him as he successfully launched his own legal firm, Toganivalu Legal.

The Board Chair says it came as no surprise that he did not hesitate when the opportunity came to serve his country once again and returning ultimately as the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions.

He says Ratu David-George was like his parents the late Ratu David Toganivalu and Adi Davila Toganivalu, a person who led by example in his own humble way.

Leadership Fiji Alumni President, Kris Prasad says the Leadership Fiji Alumni joins thousands across Fiji and the world in paying tribute to Ratu David-George Toganivalu.

Prasad says his sudden passing is a shock to their entire Alumni family as they send their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult period.

Leadership Fiji CEO, Sharyne Fong says as an Alumni and Fellow of Leadership Fiji, and having participated in the Leadership Fiji 2005 program with Ratu David-George, they found him to exemplify the qualities of a true leader.

Fong says Ratu David-George’s vision, integrity, and dedication to making Fiji a better place was an inspiration to them all and they are grateful for the privilege of having known him and for the positive impact he had on the organization and nation.

She says they know that his family and friends will find strength in the memories they shared with Ratu David-George and solace in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and guide.

Fong says heaven has gained a humble and gentle soul.
