Fiji weightlifter, Taniela Rainibogi has been confirmed as the flag bearer for Team Fiji at the 2023 Pacific Games Opening Ceremony.

Team Fiji Chef de Mission, Ajay Ballu says they had received five nominations for flag bearer from National Federations and athletes.

He adds that Rainibogi is an exceptional athlete who has represented Fiji in regional and international weightlifting competitions and has won medals in a number of championships as well.

The Pacific Games Opening Ceremony will be held on Sunday in Honiara.

Fiji will begin competitions tomorrow in football, basketball, table tennis and tennis.
