The crew of RFNS Savenaca recently underwent comprehensive collective training with the assistance of the Royal Australian Navy Sea Training Group focusing on a few key factors from damage control response to navigation.

The Fiji Navy says the training also includes engineering, casualty control procedures, and ship medical response.

The Navy says these exercises are crucial for ensuring the crew's readiness and the ship’s safe passage.

They say this vital preparation is for the ship's upcoming transit to Cairns Australia where it will undergo major maintenance.

fijivillage News had earlier sent questions regarding the status of the RFNS Puamau that still awaits maintenance work, stranded in Fulaga.

The Fiji Navy says they will give an update once final discussions are made.
