The Queen Victoria School Knights team have beaten Marist Storms 28-22 to become the new Under 17 Vodafone Fiji Secondary School Rugby League champions at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

QVS Knights head coach, Saimoni Liutaki told fijivillage News that the win today is the result of dedication and commitment in the team since day one of the season.

Liutaki says their aim this year is for the boys to win the title and it results in the performance of the team today.

He says despite the change in weather it did not deter the focus of the team.

QVS Knights captain, Josua Raqona Limahila says the boys have improved on their weaknesses such as defence and ball handling which were their major weaknesses last week.

Limahila dedicated the win to his fellow Victorians back in school.

He wants to thank the parents and teachers for their continued support throughout the season.

QVS led 18-8 at half-time. The Knights tries were scored by Josua Vunituraga with a double, Sailosi Taka, Josua Naitani and Ratu Rusiate Kilibau, while the Storms tries were scored Epi Kolinivala with two, Amini Nagado and Michael Lakoba scored a try each.
