The protection of people will remain the utmost priority for the coalition government.

Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga highlighted this while discussing child sexual abuse in a meeting with United States Ambassador to Fiji, Marie Damour.

Turaga says child sexual abuse in cyber materials is a worldwide issue.

Ambassador Damour says the US intends to assist Fiji’s law enforcement agencies and train Fiji Police Force officers to be fully equipped in curbing online child sexual exploitation.

Damour says a team from the US Department of Homeland Security will be conducting these training with its Fiji counterparts.

Turaga says Fiji will work closely with the US government in this matter.

Other areas of interest were also discussed such as education and national security.
