As civil servants have been reminded to be productive, the Ministry of Employment and Productivity is in the process of establishing a Productivity Commission.

Minister Agni Deo Singh confirmed this during the National Employment Policy Review Workshop earlier this week, he says that they will also establish a Productivity Charter.

Singh says this is going to be a tripartite body that is going to explore various means through which they can increase productivity.

He adds that Fiji hopes that there will be numerous training programmes open for the various stakeholders to allow for working towards increasing productivity.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad earlier stated that productivity is key for long-term economic growth.

He said that it influences national wealth and living standards and the Government will work with stakeholders to improve productivity.
