After a lapse of three years, the Prime Minister's International Business Awards is back and will be held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort Island on the 25th of this month.

There are 13 categories for this year’s award, celebrating business innovation, resilience, and excellence as well as uplifting the country's economy and standards in the process.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty says the Prime Minister's International Business Awards has been a shining example of the success and resilience of local businesses.

He says these awards recognize the businesses that are driving innovation, creating jobs, and expanding Fiji's global reach.

Chetty says he is incredibly proud of all of the applicants who have been selected and looks forward to celebrating their achievements at the upcoming ceremony.

Port Denarau Marina, which is one of the applicants for the Excellence in Service Award, has reaffirmed their commitment to excellence and innovation in the maritime and yachting sector.

Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Rasch says this was their first time participating in the Business Awards, which was of great significance to them.

She says this recognition not only fuels their pursuit of excellence but also underscores their dedication to making a positive impact on our community and country.

Rasch adds it provides a valuable platform to showcase their achievements and share their journey with a wider audience.

Fiji Airways Chief Executive Officer Andre Viljoen says it's crucial for Fiji Airways to participate in the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards in order to be recognized for excellence as a local business that represents Fiji around the world.

Viljoen says they consider themselves a global ambassador for Fiji, and therefore, they must also seek opportunities to highlight their achievements, tell their story and inspire other local businesses to pursue excellence.

He says the Fiji Airways Group serves 108 destinations in over 15 nations, brings in 70 percent of all visitors who fly to Fiji, employs over 1000 employees, and is targeting to earn revenues of over $1.5 billion this year.

He adds the company was the largest foreign exchange earner for Fiji, with all revenue staying within the country’s economy.
