Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has officially launched the Prime Minister’s Sugarcane Farmers Award 2025 in Lautoka, recognising the dedication and resilience of the men and women who continue to drive Fiji’s sugar industry forward.

The award has been introduced to celebrate exceptional performance and innovation in sugarcane farming while also promoting sustainable, resilient and climate conscious practices.

Rabuka says it will also encourage greater participation by recognising the contributions of women and young farmers, as well as inspiring continuous improvement and peer learning across the industry through structured recognition.

The Prime Minister says the initiative also supports Fiji’s national development agenda in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Award Categories include, District Awards, National Award, Special Recognition Awards, including Most Senior Productive Farmer (Male) and Most Senior Productive Farmer (Female) and Special Green Champion Award.

The entries will open on October 20th and will close on January 31st, 2026.
