Get ready to pay more for unleaded fuel, diesel, premix and gas from tomorrow.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says a litre of unleaded fuel will increase by 11 cents from $2.24 to $2.35, diesel from $1.86 to $1.94 per litre while premix will go up to $1.96 per litre.

Kerosene remains unchanged at $1.43.

The price of a 4.5kg cylinder of gas will go up from $14.17 to $14.41 while a 12kg cylinder will increase by 64 cents to $38.43.

The fuel and LPG price review implemented by FCCC follows a one-month lag period, as such, the May 2021 Fuel and LPG regulated prices are based on the importations made in March 2021 by the Fuel and LPG companies in Fiji.

The fluctuations noted in local fuel prices for May are due to unfavourable movements noted in the international prices for unleaded, premix, kerosene and diesel and unfavourable movement in the international freight rates which were greater than the gains from the slight weakening of the USD dollar against the Fijian dollar based on March 2021 imports.

The LPG price in Fiji is impacted by the movement in Saudi Aramco Butane Contract Price, the international freight rate and the exchange rate.

FCCC will conduct the next fuel and gas price review on 1st June 2021.
