A businessman of Ono Street, Samabula says he will celebrate this Diwali by providing dinner to people who come to ask for sweets at his place.

Anendra Prasad says he has invested about $5,000 to decorate his house and compound with lights.

He says a lot of people came to see the lights and take photos last night and about 40 people have visited him since morning.

Prasad says he is expecting about 300 to 400 people at night and he will be preparing dinner for about 500 people.

Ashneel Chandra of Samabula North says keeping in mind the safety of his loved ones, he will celebrate this year’s Diwali with only his close friends and family.

The 28-year-old says he was on reduced hours during the initial period of second wave of COVID-19 in Fiji but still managed to prepare sweets.
