It has been made clear by Fiji Airways Men's National 7s team coach Gareth Baber that he is focused on getting players in the current extended squad and also other potential finds in local tournaments to fight for a place in the team that will represent Fiji in the Olympic Games next year.

Baber says potentially getting some 15s players will be a bonus.

He says it was always his hope that those players he has spoken to in Europe would be available for the Paris and London 7s tournaments or potentially just the London 7s next year.

Baber has not revealed the names of the players he is talking to as he says it creates so much pressure and makes negotiations with the clubs very difficult.

Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova are potentially two of those players.

Baber says the availability of these players would be largely dependent on their clubs.

He says the window is still at the back end of May and June which would traditionally be the space they get before preparing for the Olympics.

Baber says they are due to be up in London, potentially in May or June and these would be the last tournaments on the World 7s Series at this stage.

There is a regulation from World Rugby which stipulates the release of players for a period of time before an Olympics.
