The Chairman of the Electoral Commission Mukesh Nand is urging all political parties to campaign in a manner that is fair, transparent and as per electoral laws of the country. The campaigning period for political parties starts today.

He says it is of utmost importance that political parties do not mislead voters who are engaged in unlawful activities, vote buying and bribing in order to manipulate or win support.

Nand adds the Fijian Elections Office will continue to monitor the campaign activities during this period and anyone found in breach will be dealt by the law.

The candidates handbook and the complaints online portal has also been launched.
