Police are yet to determine the cause of death of the 52-year-old Police officer whose body was recovered from a capsized boat on Saturday night.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The man who is based at the Nausori Police Station had gone out fishing with three others when they encountered bad weather, causing their boat to capsize near Toberua Island.
The three were rescued by another fisherman while the Police officer disappeared.
They recovered the man’s body during a search early yesterday morning.
