Police have uprooted close to 101 green plants believed to be marijuana from a farm on the island of Gau during an operation over the weekend.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, says their team on Gau Island conducted farm raids and uprooted marijuana plants from the Watui Settlement in Sawaieke.

Driu also told fijivillage News that their team also uprooted marijuana plants at Vanuabalavu, Lakeba, Taveuni and Vanua Levu.

He says this is part of their ongoing drug operation across the country, aimed at reducing supply and minimizing harm.

The Assistant Commissioner also acknowledged the continued support from members of the public in the war against drugs.
