Police to visit both schools involved in an alleged bus stoning incident last Friday

Police will visit Lelean Memorial School and the other prominent school in Tailevu today that was involved in an alleged stoning incident last Friday.

A bus full of Lelean Memorial School students was allegedly stoned last Friday after they were returning from the Vodafone Deans Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby semi finals at Dawasamu ground on Friday. While speaking to fijivillage News, Lelean Memorial School U16 Raluve Coordinator Losalini Nailevu said they were allegedly stoned after the semi-finals, and a Year 11 student was injured and taken to theKorovou Hospital.

The Year 11 student has been discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro stresses that the Ministry will not hesitate to suspend schools from participating in the Deans competition if there is violent behaviour from schools and students threatening the safety of others.
