Police search for a 49-year-old fisherman along the Labasa River

Police are currently searching along the Labasa River for a 49-year-old fisherman from Siberia who went out on a fishing trip at 7pm last night but did not return home.

Police say the fisherman left on his 12ft single tin boat last night and when he failed to return home this morning, the family lodged a missing report at the Labasa Police Station.

Two search parties consisting of officers from the Labasa Police Station have been deployed and are currently searching along the Labasa River.
