Police have begun an investigation in relation to fake news being circulated that the government will close down Queen Victoria School.

One of the people allegedly spreading the information on social media was a failed proposed candidate of the suspended SODELPA, Faith Grace.

She also claimed in the facebook post that teachers who have reached 55 years will be retired on the spot, and also made a call for ex students to organise protest marches and meetings.

Police say she has not been interviewed as yet.

Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar has stressed that the information being spread by some people are totally false.

Akbar says the Ministry of Education has just built a new 3 storey classroom block at QVS and it is ready for commissioning.

The Education Minister says all teachers will also complete the whole school year if they retire within an academic year.

Akbar stresses that there is absolutely no truth in what is being circulated.
