Police arrested three people last night for an alleged aggravated robbery case along Victoria Parade.

This is part of the Police operation at night which will now be a norm to ensure that people are safe on our streets.

We have received confirmation that the three men attacked a USP student while he was walking with others.

The three allegedly grabbed him and tried to steal items when they were confronted by the Police K9 unit.

The three were arrested by the K9 and Police Special Response Unit and taken to the station where they are now being questioned.

There were 7 drunk and disorderly cases and 3 drunk and incapable cases.

All these people are also in custody.

There were 2 cases of loitering, 2 cases of obstruction and 2 cases of disobedience of lawful order.

Heavy Police presence will continue every night.

The CCTV footage of a series of robberies that were happening along Victoria Parade in Suva last month which has prompted the Police to take action.

Fijivillage also witnessed Police officers telling loiterers to go home. These people who normally hang around at night are also seen as opportunists who prey on vulnerable people coming out of the nightclubs.
