A Police Officer charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and rape involving a relative aged between 13 and 16 years old has been remanded at the Suva Remand Centre.
The officer appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court.
The officer is alleged to have sexually assaulted the victim on several occasions at various locations in the Central and Eastern Divisions between 2019 and 2023.
He is charged with nine counts of sexual assault, three counts of rape, and one count of defilement of a person aged between 13 and 16 years.
The matter has been transferred to the Suva High Court, where he will appear on the 19th of this month.
